Co-Facilitator Sisterhood Circles in Schools

About the Position:

Part-time permanent position for co-facilitator for Sisterhood Circles in Schools, in partnership with the Vashon Island School District, Vashon Island. Vashon Sisterhood Circles in Schools empower youth, build connections, and create spaces for listening, sharing, and an environment of care and support.

Time Commitment: 12 -15 hours/week


Compensation and Benefits: $25-$31/hr. with Health Reimbursement Cash Benefits and PTO

Job Duties:

  • Co-facilitate to deliver trauma informed, evidence-based principles in four Circles once a week during the school year. In addition, co-lead two weeklong camps in the summer.

    • Elementary School: 3-5th grade

    • Middle School: 6th grade, 7th/8th grade

    • High School: 9-12th grade

  • Implement and evaluate youth-centered activities in program areas such as wellness, voice and expression, arts & crafts, social skill building, team building and other activities. 

  • Receive Training about resource referrals and how to help students get connected with the resources they might need for support.

  • Manage the relationship and clearly communicate with the schools in terms of time/places of Circle and working with counselors to assist students and their families registering. 

  • Submit and review weekly Circle assessment forms. Review and provide guidance and redirection when necessary for Program plans.

  • Background Check

  • One Circle Foundation Girls Circle Facilitation Training

  • Co-facilitate weekly opt-in prevention education program during lunchtime at the middle school.

  • Attend staff meetings

Passion for and experience with engaging youth in a variety of activities including social-emotional skill building activities, mindful meditations, group building games and exercises, and arts and crafts projects.


Skills in co-facilitating Circle experiences and/or a desire to learn Circle facilitation skills.
Strong trauma informed, non-judgmental communication skills with colleagues, youth participants, and
their families.

Orientation towards self-reflection and program-reflection; capable of giving and receiving feedback.


Capable of meeting deadlines and seeking supervisory consultation when necessary.


Able to organize effectively, function independently, and collaborate as part of a team.

Growth-oriented, flexible, creative, and open mindset.

About the Position:

The advocacy role entails providing advocacy-based support for survivors of domestic violence to promote their self-determination and safety. In addition, advocates help sexual assault victims. This role also engages the community in training and community outreach.


Job Duties:

  • Provide domestic violence advocacy as necessary, including hotline, assessment, intake, ACP, PO, safety planning. This also included being trained as a sexual assault advocate and working with clients impacted by sexual assault.

  • Assist in outreach or community training events.

  • Assist in general administrative office tasks.

  • Ability to work in a confidential manner and in a confidential setting.

  • Strong commitment to providing culturally appropriate services to those we work with.


Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field. Relevant work experience can be substituted. Proficiency in data collection and Microsoft Office programs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong time management, problem-solving, and organizational skills; ability to work well independently and in a team environment. Spanish fluency is highly desired. Organized and detail-oriented.Able to problem solve and think outside the box. Dedication to continual learning and participation in ongoing professional development
